Kayaking Courses
Skern Lodge is a British Canoe Union Approved Centre. This applies to the quality of instruction, equipment and safety. All equipment is provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
Applicants for courses must be able to swim 50 metres.
Beginners Kayaking
A weekend course that introduces the basic skills on inland and tidal waters. The BCU Star awards can be taken.
River, Sea & Surf
A week long programme suitable for all abilities, which covers many different aspects of kayaking on our excellent variety of local waters. BCU Star awards also available.
BCU Awards
As well as on the above two courses, we provide training and assessments for small groups and groups of individuals, according to demand. These include Star awards, the Canoe Safety Test and coaching awards. Please phone the centre to discuss requirements and register your interest. BCU fees are additional to the course fee.
Learn to Roll Session
2 hour rolling clinics are available at various times to suit individuals.
