Youth Project Programme
Sample Programme
A sample programme would be based around the groups individual needs. It would be worked within a framework of a normal timetable such as:
Step 1 |
Meeting the people you are working with. Setting aims of the week. |
Step 2 |
Learn new skills on activities. Build trust & support between group members through activities. |
Step 3 |
Use challenge as a means of increasing confidence in self & others by pushing boundaries. Mid course review highlights achievements so far & re-focuses the remainder of the week. |
Step 4 |
A chance to nurture skills gained or highlighted during the week with a supervised expedition in a challenging environment – taking decisions & responsibility for themselves & others. |
Step 5 |
The Big Step Home Transferring learning gained at Skern Lodge & applied to each individual's environment. Feedback from peers & tutors on individual achievements & development during the week. Look at support & opportunities for the future |
These steps will be followed by each tutor and adjusted according to the requirements of the group on a day by day basis. This decision is made mutually between the Course Director and the accompanying staff.
